Silence pierces the comfort. Shall I regard the begging questions or heed the ache? Nay. Everyman - of humanity’s breath - am I, and pride is my tether. Though to what it is anchored, why inquire? Is not life about exploring the many relative possibilities to answer its riddle?

The Scent of the Living Water

7 “For there is hope for a tree,
When it is cut down, that it will sprout again,
And its shoots will not fail.
8 “Though its roots grow old in the ground
And its stump dies in the dry soil,
9 At the scent of water it will flourish
And put forth sprigs like a plant (Job 14:7-9, NASB).

Lord, You have both written on and speak to my inner being; how I long to write something that would speak to Yours. Though You have no need for men's words, You delight Yourself in those who keep Your commandments, offering them friendship and testifying to their obedience before the enemy and before the world. Pour out Your Spirit, oh Lord, upon Your scribe that I write outside of myself, for if I may pen what touches the heart of God, then surely the stone within men would shatter as their minds engage to the inscription by your finger.

The Mourner's Release

Nothing would appear to call the sovereignty of God into question more than the presence of death and the suffering it brings, expected and unexpected, especially when it involves a child -- from our perspective the greatest expression of human innocence. A variety of reasons may be provided for the death of an adult, but it is that of a child that shakes the foundation of any worldview holding to ultimate goodness. Every rationality seems to fail both to comfort and relieve the questioner.

Seeing the Truth and Will of God

Feeling is never an acceptable standard for determining truth or measuring the will of God. As human beings we dread what we do not understand, we are hesitant of the uncomfortable, and we mistake a minute level of happiness for the overwhelming, fulfilling joy that only He provides and elicits within the believer. Paralleled to three of the major components or factors incorporated into the human eye for vision, there are three that form the standard that allows us to "see."
